The Council for Service-Learning Excellence
The Council for Service-Learning Excellence awards the Seal of Excellence, an annual award given to one or more service-learning resources recognized nationally by service-learning practitioners as an incredibly effective and valuable contribution to the field.
Nominations will be voted upon by the five centers that make up the Council in mid-January, 2006. Winners must receive a unanimous "yes" vote from all five centers. Winners will be announced prior to the National Conference in Philadelphia in March, 2006.
A strong candidate...
- Has stood the test of time — and has the potential to be useful 2-10 years down the road
- Never gets stuck on a shelf, but is always open on your desk to refer to
- Is something you use in a workshop when you want to make sure it's a winner
- Is one of the first, never-fail resources to which you refer new SL practitioners
Previous winners include...
- Community Lessons: Promising Curriculum Practices, Julie Bartsch
- Curriculum Connections (board game) - National Dropout Prevention Center
